CLERK/RESPONSIBLE FINANCIAL OFFICER VACANCY
NALC National Salary Scale SCP 24-28 £14.50-16.31 per hour depending on experience/qualifications
Eastington Parish Council, holder of Quality Gold in the Local Council Award Scheme, is seeking applicants for the role of Clerk/Responsible Financial Officer to work 15 hours per week. The Council is responsible for a burial ground and a very well used play area. The council is also supported by a Planning Clerk.
The council currently has nine councillors with a precept of £79,000. All meetings take place in the Village Hall at 7 pm on the second Thursday of every month, with a planning meeting every fourth Thursday.
The successful candidate must be an experienced clerk, preferably holding the Certificate in Local Council Administration, or be prepared to work towards it within the first year of employment. They must also be computer literate and be competent in maintaining accurate accounts.
A laptop, printer and mobile phone are supplied and you will be required to use your home as an office and store all council documents in the council’s filing cabinet, for which an allowance of £4 per week (non-taxable) is given to cover the costs.
